Teachers have a behavior of approval and disapproval of students in the class, which
impacts the individual class and the whole class. In order to reinforce the desired classroom
social behaviors among the students, teachers use praise or contingent approval. It is essential
for teachers and students to interact appropriately since the teachers' disapproval or approval
can have significant effects on the student's reactions and responses. Some data indicate that
teachers (Robyn & Kevin, 2019). The disapproval natural rates study and approval depicts
that the data indicated that students' behavior was approved more than they disapproved and
could praise good work among the students than to criticize poor work. However, teachers
could also criticize the poor work than praising the students for good behavior. Teachers'
approval and disapproval of academic performance are different in junior and infant levels.
There is a need to teach and train students on the importance of contingent approval involved
in teacher-student interaction.
Different research about approval and disapproval of teachers to students varies from
institution to institution. It is true because the various institutions have different types of
students ranging from kindergarten children to older students. Therefore, teachers have
different approval and disapproval rates on the different grades of the individuals. For
example, teachers are not expected to criticize junior individuals in school as they may be
very young to handle critiques since they may have psychological problems created through
harsh punishments of the teachers on disapproval behaviors. However, senior students might
persevere on the teachers' critiques and have lesser psychological effects than younger
children from kindergarten when experiencing disapproval remarks from teachers. Teachers
should be keen on the group of individuals they are approving or disapproving of since it can
