Lab #4 Objective: Interfaces and Pan command in AutoCAD Apparatus: • Lab Computer • AutoCAD software Theory: Blue Interface: It is said to be window selection (blue). It is so called because the only those objects are selected that are completely inside the selection box. How to use it? Drag cursor of mouse from left-top to right bottom to select all objects that are enclosed in the selection rectangle. In blue Interface, lines are selected if and only if all the points of the particular line is selected. Only one line is selected at a time to erase that from drawing area. Green Interface: Said to be cross selection. It is so called because all those objects are selected that are crossed by the interface line. How to use it? Drag cursor from right bottom to left to select all objects crossed by the selection rectangle. An advantage of green interface is that all the objects under the dragged cursor are selected and can be deleted through pressing the “del” button. Pan command: It is said for “palm” command. Using this command we can hold and move the drawing sheet which is containing the objects.
