Board of Nursing cont.  The governor or state legislature also delegates them to enforce these policies and laws.  They oversee the issuance of licenses, their application, and renewals. Nursing Associations  They are private membership professional organizations that require qualified members only to pay their dues and continue benefitting. Nursing Associations cont.  They have the freedom to lobby the legislature, and the association can represent the whole team in practice, legislative, and political matters.  They place each nurse on the front to address the changes. California Board of Nurses  The policy-setting board in California board of nurses has nine members.  The board members consist of four public members and five registered members (California Board of Registered Nursing, n.d.).
