Based on the Hildrum (2008) article, what are two solutions to handle
automatic data deletion?
How do these solutions differ?
Based on the Hildrum (2008) article, one of two solutions to handle
automatic data deletion are the FIFO approach. the FIFO approach simply
stands for First-In First-Out, which would delete the oldest data to be
replaced with newer data. This solution seems beneficial to many people
on a personal level, but in other situations this way for deleting items could
be a bad idea. Another way to handle automatic data deletions would come
by which file was last accessed and used. This type of data deletion
method is known as Initial Write/ Subsequent Read approach, this idea
would work great considering that if information was not used by the
system it was deleted, but just because the data hasn't been accessed in a
while, doesn't mean that it would be the right file to delete. Each type of
approach has its positives and negatives, but the importance would be
depended upon how the system data should be used.
