1. Why do you think Apple’s functional structure has been so important for their

Apple’s functional structure has been very vital for the corporation’s success. First, this structure
has boosted corporate’s sales as the team of employee and experts are able to collaborate with
one another to improve product quality and service delivery. This functional structure has also
enabled the company share product information which is very essential for product development
(Colquitt, LePine & Wesson, 2019). This has boosted the product’s technology improvement as a
team of experts are able to brainstorm and come up with a product update that is significant or
satisfies customer needs. This functional structure has also created the relentless innovations at
the corporate as experts can easily and freely share ideas that can help the corporation double
their revenues through sales of the quality products. This structure has also given the company
the freedom needed to help develop a product since the management is done at the top thus
teams have the freedom to strategize for product success.
2. What are the outside forces that might make Apple change their organizational
structure in the future? (1.25 Marks) (Min words 150-200)
The top outside force that might force Apple to change its organizational structure is the
competitors who will come with better products which are updated regularly unlike Apple’s
products which are often not updated until a new product is released into the market. This leaves
the company vulnerable since the corporate structure does not hold teams or unit accountable.
Customers may also force Apple Company to change its organizational structure to ensure
innovative production of products that fits the current market trends which are characterized by
proper software update or desktop updates to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in service
