RIVIAN MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES 2
Introduction
Rivian Company deals with automotive technology and automaker services. Robert
Scaringe founded the Company in 2009, and it majors in the development of services, products,
and vehicles for a sustainable transportation system. The Company announced it was venturing
into developing a new car that can be electrically charged. The products to be developed is an
electric pickup truck and an SUV. Both of the two vehicles were to be designed in a manner that
they can be both off-road driving and on-road driving. In the year 2020, in November, the
Company had employed over three thousand employees to achieve the Company's goals.
Team aspects and characteristics
For the development of the new product to be effective, it should have a foundation of a
team geared towards the success and smooth running of the organization. To fulfill the aim of
Rivian first, the communication between the team members should be well, whereby the
members present can be able to share their ideas, opinions with other team members in the
organization. With the right environment for communication, the track of progress will be
effective (Zhang, 2019). Secondly, the team should focus on Rivian’s goals and how to
implement them. The Company will provide the team with a clear and precise plan on achieving
its objectives. Through this, the team will have a clear direction and a goal to achieve. Third,
every team member should be committed and feel a sense of belonging, thereby being able to
participate effectively in their work setting. The team should support each other, thereby
becoming more productive to initialize and implement the new product to be achieved. Lastly,
the team members will be of diversity, thereby adding more ideas in the implementation of the
electric car.
