I chose the topic Middle Ages Church because learning how the Catholic Church became
powerful is essential since it had become rich and intense because of the 10

congregation started to produce and the church's penances. It would also be necessary to know
what activities the church did that made it famous and influential. The book by Logan (2013)
explains the history of the church in the middle age, describing the church before the middle ages
and how it transitioned to be a Middle Age Church. I chose the book by Volz (2011) because it
seeks to answer why a person's perception about the medieval church impacts their attitude on
ecumenism, which was a way for the world Christian churches to come together in unity. It also
explains how Europe was evangelized and the significance of understanding diverse church-to-
state relationships between the West and Byzantium. I chose the article by Faleye (2013) because
it explains the corruption of churches in the middle age period and its effects on the national
development, therefore, showing the impact of corrupt middle age churches on the national goals
and values. It explains a system in the middle age church, an oppressive tool for the church
against the Jews and Muslims.
Specifying the starting and ending dates of the medieval age with absolute certainty may
be a difficult task, but historians all around the globe are unanimous that the time period referred
was largely controlled by a high tide of Christianity, and in particular the Catholic Church, in
Western Europe. The Roman Catholic Church was heavily influential in social, religious, and
political matters during the High Middles ages, a period that lasted from about 1000 to 1350 C.E.
