In the last three decades, technological advances have transformed the medical realm. The
days of manual file recording and thorough charting are steadily fading. With emerging
technologies in electronic record keeping and telehealth, individuals can easily access their data.
Technology permits RNs to augment efficiency and communicate successfully in the nursing
field. Conducted research indicates that technology positively influences patient care.
Particularly, Electronic health records have transformed the healthcare informational sphere.
EHR encloses progress notes, intricacies, providers, lab data, and medication, which augments
patient care by enhancing the medical records’ lucidity and exigency while rendering data
available to health care professionals and patients. While implementing these technologies,
establishments must consider the costs involved and the personnel these technologies will affect.
Failure to which they will not reap the benefits associated with the implementation of these
technologies.
