Deliverable 4
Question 4 Objective
1. Introduction: an overview of the case study
The foundation of Blackrocks was from a hobby that developed into a concrete idea by
the two co-partners, Andrew and Chris. The two leaders, other employees, and part-timers
formed the two flat levels of organizational structure (Gnauk, Hart, & Pagel, 2014).
Professionally, there was no structure but a rudimentary form of management by word of mount,
not following any structure. However, they need better management and leadership styles to
change their approach to management. This paper illustrates the different management
approaches, identifies the similarities and differences between the two co-partners, elaborates on
the needs to achieve these values, and completes the paper by concluding on the strategies they
need to adopt.
2. Present key ideas and concepts about leadership:
a) What are the leader and management qualities of the co-CEOs?
They both have a fundamental approach to leadership and management. They
understand what should be done, are innovative but cannot pass the concrete ideas in a
structured format to their juniors. Andy and David have some planning ideas, like the
agreement to renovate the building’s top floor to accommodate more people. According
to Gnauk, Hart and Pagel (2014), the partners also turned a primary hobby into a
business, showing significant leadership concepts; innovation. They also forecast the
needs for craft beer in the future, a move that propelled their business idea.
b) Compare and contrast the key leadership styles of the co-CEOs.
