REMOTE SENSING 2
Remote sensing is the science used to gather information from a surface without contacting it. In
mining, sensing techniques help discover some geological structures and mineral resources, and
many different things on the surface. The knowledge about the structure, stratigraphy, and
chemical composition of the earth's crust helps us locate resources that can sustain and improve
our ways of life.
In remote sensing, the following techniques can be used;
Band Ratio is an efficient processing method. It allows various lithological features to be
distinguished. It's normally calculated by multiplying one band's radiometric value by the
radiometric value of the same pixel in another band.
Principal components analysis is the kind of technology that helps avoid duplication of data from
one ground-cover reflection in multispectral OLI bands. This technique contributes to dividing
the original data into multiple groups. As a result of this technique, it is possible to identify
aspects of terrain and areas that contain minerals.

REMOTE SENSING 3 The target detection wizard technique matches the image spectra of the minerals with the reference target spectra, allowing the detection of studied mineral targets. The ACE is an invariant detection statistic that is uniformly most efficient. This approach calculates the spectral angle between two spectra by treating them as vectors. ...
