Hanta Virus-Immunology 1 HISTORY • 1st discovery of the disease was in china in 1931. • During Korean war in 1951-54, approximately 3000 soldiers was sick due to virus. • In 1976, virus was isolated from rodents for the very 1st time from Hantan River area. • Virus was Hantan Orthohantavirus. • OLD WORLD HANTAVIRUS • NEW WORLD HANTAVIRUS • Andes Orthohantavirus discovery. 2 TRANSMISSION: • Hantavirus is a deadly disease which spreads through rodents wastes to human. • Andes virus only show transmission human to human. • Transmission by human to human is a very rare case. • Prevention from rodents wastes or fluid material is the prevention from this deadly disease. 3 STRUCTURE ▪An enveloped virus ▪single-stranded ▪negative-sense RNA viruse ▪Lipid bilayer (5nm) ▪Glycoproteins G1 and G2 ▪3 RNA ploymerases ▪Nucleoprotein N 4 5 GENOME The family includes five genera 1.
