Overview
Alcohol abuse in most cases results in the development of other harmful disorders that
can be seen through the external behaviors of the victims. Treatment, therefore, depends on the
associated behaviors. These effects from excessive alcohol intake are referred to as the Alcohol
Use Disorders (AUD). The disorders can present themselves in the form of severe stress,
excessive bodily harm, and mild distress (Maisto, Connors, & Dearing, 2007).
According to the study done by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
(NIAAA) a part of the National Health Institute accounts a very high level of alcohol use. Of
this, a third of the grown-ups in America show the AUD numerous times in their lives.
Shockingly, a very little portion of the victim makes necessary arrangement find cure. The study
also disclosed that there is an increase of the AUDS, especially for the last decade. The outcomes
are shocking as well as alarming. They highlight the problem relating to alcohol, which has been
