Problem
Parenthood is already a challenging journey. However, undertaking parenthood as a
single mom or dad is even more challenging and stressful. There is a general perception that
single parents gets more stressed out when they fall in situations they are required to make quick
responses but lack automatic answers and are confident that their failure would adversely affect
them. Lack of appropriate ways to manage stress makes single fathers and mothers unable to
cope with life, thereby becoming less effective and productive. Evidently, there is a need for a
better platform to manage stress.
A family whose one parent is absent tends to be different in nature and exhibited effects.
Divorce, separation, or being widowed causes the status of being a single parent. Some people
also lack spouses at all, while some have temporarily gone. Single parent undergoes multiple
difficulties when trying to maintain their lifestyles, and when striving to satisfy their social life in
their relationships with other adults. In most cases, single parents are accorded an inferior social
status that makes them stigmatized. They are frequently the question of emotional demands;
hence, they are subjected to stress than other parents. This is compounded by the fact that intact
families tend to reject single parents for fear of marriage-related concerns.
A one-parent family faces barriers such as reduced flexibility, which delays their children
in socialization and new roles in society. The female parents who are divorced often faces
reduced income as they assume the role of a family head. Additionally, they have to confront the
increased domestic duties, minimized authority, increased responsibilities, and reduced social
support. These conditions appear ordinary over wider geographical areas. In developed countries,
the rates of divorce seem even higher. Taking care of a family as a single parent demands
