1 The path-goal and the leader-member exchange leadership theories are dynamic methods of accomplishing individual or team-related goals (Northouse, 2019). The path-goal theory suggests that followers are more motivated when they think that they are capable of doing their work, believe that their work effort will result in a specific outcome, and if work payoffs are worthwhile (Northouse, 2019).
