Safety and Ethical Consideration in Discharging Patients
Summary of Park Decision Making Model
The integrated decision-making model is useful in making decisions concerning the patients.
Nurses use the model to ensure the decisions which are made by the doctors and nurses are made
according to the legal, ethical issues in nursing (Park, 2012). The decision model involves the statement
of the problem, analysis of the problem, developing alternative solutions for the problem, and developing
a recommendation on the methods used in solving the problem. In the case study concerning Dr. Wayne
and a 45-year-old lady, an ethical decision-making model is used to ensure the patient is discharged
according to the health care system's ethical issues. The case presents a problem faced by the nurses in
discharging the 45-year-old lady from the hospital to home apartments.
