Intersectional Features in Masculinity and femininity
The identification of intersectional features in masculinity and femininity requires an
understanding of intersectionality. Intersectionality is a set of oppression and discrimination such
as racism, feminism, and sexual oppression. The sexual violence may results from the specific
intersectional features through the ways that masculinity are socially constructed and
institutionally reproduced. The link between masculinity and violence need to be broken besides,
the negative impacts of toxic masculinity on people of all genders needs to be reduced.
Masculinity and femininity are socially constructed through some specific intersectionality
features such as toughness, stoicism, sexism, heterosexism, self-sufficient attitudes and a lack of
emotional sensitivity. The link between masculinity and violence can be broken through training
of the uniformed officers who deals with the report on rape, and incorporating computer based
technology to investigate gender based violence that results from the toxic masculinity among

demonstrated by how men are favored for certain position in the society based on their

Katz (p.192) reiterate that Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton is due to the aggressiveness and
uncompromising tone given to the male gender by the toxic masculinity. The misinformed
opinion that female gender lack aggressiveness renders them passive. The ambitions of the
female gender to hold certain prolific positions in the society are therefore negatively affected by
such societal beliefs.
The toxic of masculinity on people all of all genders need to reduced. The link created
between masculinity and gender violence also needs to be broken. The sexual violence against
youths, children, and the adult women can reduced through training of the uniformed officers
who deals with the report on rape (Doe 543). Enough training called Family violence needs to be
given to the concerned officers. The investigation of the rape assaults have been a challenge for
most cases of rape reported in Toronto Canada. The investigation of the gender violence cases
