Factors and My Own View of Globalization

Globalization is a phenomenon where no one is in charge of. It has happened

many years ago and it continues to grow up until today. This is where different countries

are interdependent with each other. Globalization has developed throughout the years

where the economic status of every country mostly depends on it. Many researchers

have written an article where they discuss how globalization works. There is a

numerous definition for the word globalization that you can see on the internet and you

can learn how it works.

Through the article I have read, I learned that globalization covers a variety of the

social economic status of each country. This is where trade and foreign investment

comes in, which is very common as to how globalization works. Trading simply means

exchanging an item for something in return, one can buy something at a low price and

sell it for a higher price to gain profit. If someone wants to learn how to trade, he/she

needs to learn first the basics of stock market and how it works. If that someone is an

individual, he/she needs to have a broker to handle their stock and worry about the

exchange. Foreign investment is where one person can buy shares internationally from

a company and gain profit as that said company grows. They look forward for

globalization and they will need to adapt to the current trends of the world, it will also

depend on their target market. Through the trades and foreign investments that has

been happening all over the world, it is very clear that we are all interdependent with

other countries and it helps the growth of each and every country’s economic status.

After reading the Economic Globalization: From Microeconomic Foundation to

National Determinants, it is unclear to me how different countries come up with different

strategies that quickly adapt to the current trends of the world that makes businesses

grow more and even have people invest in them. The second thing that is still unclear to

me is as to how a country’s economic status can greatly affect another country which

we are all facing, now that we are experiencing COVID-19. The last thing that is unclear

to me is as to how a country’s economic status bounce back if they are dealing with

corruption in the government.

Before reading the article, I used to think that it does not matter whether to give

attention or not as to how globalization works and I never saw myself taking interest in it

but not until now that I am already taking GED105. Before, I used to see myself as a

business owner but never really thought that there is so much more to learn on how

globalization works that can help a business to grow. I also used to think that it is easy

to invest money on something and that you just need to know the basics on how to do it.

Now, as I have already entered adulthood, I can slowly see the realities and how hard it

is to survive in this world.

Reading the article made me wonder, what are the different strategies to make

globalization work in terms that can help poverty? Seeing the rich getting richer and the

poor getting poorer, makes me question the system of different governments. How can

we resolve problems such as corruption and social injustices? People in power takes
