To summarize, they celebrate the fact that the Greeks gave innovative and art-oriented shapes to

legends and myths carried forward from history, the monsters being enormous in size and having

animal and human traits merged onto a terrifying creature. Following the Greek, the Romans

continued the same tradition which originally dates back to the Egypt and Mesopotamia. It is

imperative to note that both the Roman and Greek carried a belief from their Middle Eastern

predecessors that the old monsters gave rise to humans as their off-springs signifying their

parental relationship with mankind. Also, a major ambiguity in understanding monsters stems

from their dual relationship to mankind; one being the epigenetic relationship bearing paternity

and the other being demonic parody of God.

The implication of this parental relationship is that monsters hold a devilish human component in

them. This is problematic because it can lead to idealization of demonic traits in humans.
