imperative to note that both the Roman and Greek carried a belief from their Middle Eastern
predecessors that the old monsters gave rise to humans as their off-springs signifying their
parental relationship with mankind. Also, a major ambiguity in understanding monsters stems
from their dual relationship to mankind; one being the epigenetic relationship bearing paternity
and the other being demonic parody of God.
The implication of this parental relationship is that monsters hold a devilish human component in
them. This is problematic because it can lead to idealization of demonic traits in humans.
