1. It must be noted that there are elements in the American society who do not want to put a
stop on the war Government has put against drugs. One influential sect of the society are
those involved in politics who do not want to put the war to an end due to two major
reasons; one being acceptance of failure in doing so and the other being loss of
substantial financial gains they have from the said war. Although it is not ethically
acceptable to keep the war going on grounds of financial gain, explicitly they take the
other side. People affected by this scenario are left to face the misery this war imposes on
them. Although those in government and politics do not want to admit their defeat, but
everyone knows that this war is already lost by those sustaining it. All the chaos and
panic because of the war can never satisfy the pride of victory or being in pursuit of
victory by the political elements. However, the good thing is that much can be
endeavored to lessen the harmful implications due to war against drugs.
2. In my previous paper, the thesis I implied was that zombies are metaphoric to the
boredom of daily work life. There, I claimed that zombies were anonymous, and thus
depersonalized, and represented how people felt depersonalized at work. I didn't deal
with the possible objection that in a zombie film, since the hero isn't depersonalized, the
zombies must represent the depersonalization of others, not the depersonalization of the
their self. I could rebut this objection by noticing, that the act of treating others as
unimportant or interchangeable debases me, so I am depersonalized by treating others as
less than human. So, my initial idea still holds up, if indirectly. The introduction of this
naysayer strengthens my argument because it addresses the other side of the story as well
and therefore is more complete and comprehensive than being without the naysayer.
