1.Your recorded PowerPoint presentation (as an PPTX doc)
2.Your presentation transcript (as a Word doc)
At least 10 references from great recent peer-reviewed journals At least 5 of these should be
identified independently (i.e. over and above the recommended reading) This means: 1. Your
information should come from scientific journals 2. Avoid using information that you’ve found on
websites, blogs, etc. 3. You should conduct a proper literature search on PsycInfo and make sure
you’ve covered the literature well 4. Don't just regurgitate the discussion slides! 5. You need to
condense what you’ve learned into a ‘a coherent story’ and answer the given question
PRESENTATION STRUCTURE SLIDES-
1 Title slide • Your first slide should have your presentation title, your student number and your
programme • Come up with your own title, based on the given question.
2 Background / Introduction to the topic • Use the first few slides to provide a broad overview of the
topic you want to cover in your presentation • DON’T just repeat the title as provided in the
handbook. • This is a good place to approach the topic from a wider perspective.
3 The main body of the presentation • Use a few slides to develop your argument • The build-up of
your argument and transition between slides should be smooth and logical • This is the place to
show off your critical thinking skills!

4 Summary/conclusion • Use the last 1-2 slides to provide 3-5 bullet points summary of key
messages you wanted to convey to round up your presentation • Consider the key take home
messages you want the listener to take from listening to your presentation • Have you answered the

PPT VISUAL VS. ORAL INFORMATION-
You will be reading out your transcript out loud as you’re switching PowerPoint slides There will be
discrepancy between what you’re reading and what is shown, BUT You need to balance the text on
the slides and what you are saying e.g. Slides usually have a few key bullet points over which there
should be a more informative and interesting narrative Don't mention studies and key concepts
you have not included in your slides Don't have information on your slides that you are not going
to talk about Don’t have too much text on the slides; for the listener, it is very difficult to listen and
read at the same time!
VISUAL VS. ORAL INFORMATION HOW TO CITE •
When making statements or describing studies you wouldn’t necessarily read out full citation, but
these must be on the slide (in parentheses) e.g.: Slide: Development progresses through several
