Socio-demographic Characteristics of Parents Results of the study show that among the 90 cases and 90 controls, 9 (10.0%) mothers were less than or equal to 25 years in age, 16 (17.8%) were between 26-29 years of age, 33 (33.6%) were between 30-34 years of age, 16 (17.8%) were between 35-29 years of age and 16 (17.8%) were equal to or above 40 years old in the case group compared to 10 (11.1%), 8 (8.9%), 22 (22.4%), 23 (25.6%) and 27 (30.0%) in the control group respectively (Table 1). Regarding mother’s education, 3 (3.3%) were illiterate while 87 (96.7%) were literate in the case group while 7 (7.8%) were illiterate and 83 (92.2%) were literate in the control group. Regarding mother’s occupation, 7 (7.8%) were working while 83 (92.2%) were housewives in the case group while 1 (1.1%) were working and 83 (92.2%) were housewives in the control group. Regarding mother’s age at the time of marriage, out of cases, 57 (63.3%) was equal to or less than 25 years of age, 27 (30.0%) were between 26-29 years, 5 (5.6%) were between 30-34 years, 1 (1.1%) were between 35-39 years and 0(0%) were equal to or above 40 years of age. Out of controls, 52 (57.8%) was equal to or less than 25 years of age, 19 (21.1%) were between 26-29 years, 14 (15.6%) were between 30-34 years, 4 (4.4%) were between 35-39 years and 1(1.0%) were equal to or above 40 years of age.
