The concept of health and disease has different meanings for different people. Many see health
as a state of complete physical and mental wellbeing. However, some go beyond the definition of
having health as merely having well-being, on the contrary, they include the absence of disease
and infirmity as well. For the truth being every person has their own definition of any-thing in
their lives. In this essay, then, we will be knowing health actually is and how it can be
safeguarded.
Exercise 2
In the Introduction to “They Say/ I Say”: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing, Gerald
Graff and Cathy Birkenstein provide templates designed to aid the pupil in writing the write-ups
in an efficient and effective manner. Specifically, Graff and Birkenstein argue that the types of
writing templates they offer help the pupil to have a more compassionate approach in listening to
what others have as their ideas and strike back in a more effective way. As the authors
themselves put it, “the say/I say”. Although many a people hold the belief that templates restrain
their creativity, Graff and Birkenstein, taking instances of the song-writers, persuade that even
the highest level of creativity in expression is dependent upon the well-established templates,
patterns and structures. In sum, then, their view is that the peculiarity, creativity and originality is
not determined by avoiding the templates in writing, bit in the way these templates are employed
determines how creative and original the content is and also how much of attractiveness it
carries.
I agree somewhat in this regard. In my view, the types of templates that the authors recommend
