Emotional appeal is a method of persuasion which utilizes emotions to get a response.
In other words, it instigates emotions in the other party which lead to persuasion for
the party using the emotional appeal.
An example is a child crying to get sweets or chocolates from parents or even
strangers.
Logical appeals
A logical appeal is a method of persuasion which is based on reasoning, providing
evidence or logics to get something approved of. This is most widely used by adults,
especially literate ones for persuasion. It requires one to have extensive knowledge of
what they are talking about preferably evidence-based, in order for the appeal to be
successful.
Source credibility appeals
Source credibility appeals employ subjective or objective credibility of facts and
figures used for persuasion. Objective credibility is based on evidence and support
while subjective credibility is based on personal experiences and judgments. Source
credibility appeals are the most widely employed ones.
