Deaf culture is a set of social believes, behaviours, history, values and shared values of
institutions of communities influenced by deafness and which use sign language as a means
of communication. The deaf should learn how to communicate in spoken English. Also sign
language should be taught in school as the first child’s first language. If ASL method is to be
used (language with English syntax) which is a solid first language that facilitate language
such as reading and writing in English.regarding the ignorance of the hearing world towards
ASL, environment matters a lot and residential schools ar5e not the best chice for the deaf
children. Touching is used in public schools to tget the deaf student attention. Closing your
eyes or turning your back on a deaf child is not recommendable. Accounstics should also be
considered in the classroom setup.
