With a beautiful natural harbor and vast square of kilometers of the Amazon jungle,
Brazil is a naturally beautiful holiday destination that most individuals are always looking
forward to visit. The country is strategically positioned in the world. It enjoys the mostly sunny
tropical and subtropical climate, which makes it an attractive holiday destination all year round.
Better still, the country is well endowed with many unique plants and animal species, that
environmental tourists may explore.
Now more than ever before, tourism stands to offer the country opportunities that are
beyond the merry experience that individuals enjoy in Brazil. In particular, tourism in Brazil
stands to offer employment opportunities in various sectors in the country. Spanning from the
huge casinos and hotels that are sustained by tourists money, to the small yet important fees that
tourists pay tour guides to be shown various areas of Brazil major towns such as Rio de Janeiro,
tourism is important for Brazil’s economy (Hudson, 2002, p. 12). In light of this, tourism
contributes both directly and indirectly to the country’s economy.
Better still, tourism acts as an incentive for the public to conserve most of the country’s
natural heritage and habitats. The public protects natural habitats for wild animals such as rivers,
forests, as well as monuments and structures, which attract tourists. Generally, the main reason
for this protection, which has the overall effect of improving a regions environment, is because
these areas provide income for the local population. In light of this, tourism in Brazil, and
specifically in Rio de Janeiro, has the overall effect of improving the country’s environment.
Rio de Janeiro is known for producing world-class sports personalities such as the
legendary Pele. In fact, this was among the reason why the country was able to attract the 2016
Olympics. Consequently, tourism in the city will make the locals to conserve its natural habitats
