Health is an important concern to the public. A healthy population is a healthy nation
because when the people are sick, it affects the productivity of the country drastically. Through
the World Health Organization, health priority is considered by many countries as an essential
component. The push towards better health drives the country to develop healthcare system and
even have health policies (Fallon & Zgodzinski, 2012). Therefore, in this context, the discussion
below focuses on role of the government in the public health to tuberculosis as a health issue.
The function of the public health at the national, state and local level is also discussed
It is good to note that, the government is vital in the operation of the healthcare system
(Fallon & Zgodzinski, 2012). This is because the government is able to contribute towards
proper function of the public health in a couple of ways. Noteworthy, the structure of the
government in public is in hierarchy form (Fallon & Zgodzinski, 2012). The high authority lies
amongst individuals at the top of the government. The sharing of power and decentralization of
the responsibilities to the local levels through the community workers in public health is evident
in the structure of public health. Each of the three levels is important and works harmoniously
with each other to bring out the effective public health to the society (Foldspang, 2015).
The national level is the topmost controller of the public health concern. The structure at
national level involves the commitment of the health care professionals particularly the public
health professionals. It is responsible for policy making that benefits the people in society
including those suffering from tuberculosis (Foldspang, 2015). The policies enacted are tailored
