Introduction
Eating locally produced foods has positive effects to the existence of present and future
generations. Consumption of fruits and vegetables especially have led to local encouragement for
eating of naturally stored foodstuff. In the modern world, with the existence of various diseases
attributed to the eating of junk foods and the snacks, health practitioners have raised an onslaught
to ensure the population goes back to the old days thus live healthily. The existence of green
houses and groceries have put to place local consumption on the map. The paper evaluates the
benefits of local produce to the environment, the individual and many people’s concern that
ensure everybody adheres to the healthy living standards.
Benefits of implementing local eating practices
Farmers harvest fresh produce and then distribute to sellers who get them fresh and full
of nutrients. Local foods are full of nutrients compared to imported staff which have traveled
thousands of kilometers rendering them old. The consumer can enjoy the food within 24 hours
within its plucking from the farm. The other advantage points to the food containing many
flavors. The vegetables and fruits are taken out of the farm at the peak of their ripeness thus the
flavor in it contained. The other produce is removed before time to give an allowance for
transportation to the designated areas. The last milestone of ensuring local consumption looks
into the environment and ensures the soil remains green thus a beneficial environmental
existence. (Martinez, 2010)

In the present day of preservatives and additives, people are increasingly attentive to the
