RETENTION, SEPARATION, AND DISCIPLINE 2
Employee retention involves activities designed to keep workers in the company once
they have been employed whereas employee separation is the procedure of equitably and
efficiently terminating workers. Moreover, employee discipline is the procedure where the
executives take actions to assist a worker in overcoming unacceptable conduct issues in the work
environment. This essay will describe and analyze issues related to employee retention,
separation, and discipline in Coca Cola Company.
Employee Retention Strategies
Coca Cola understands that high-performing workers are always in high demand. The
organization perform six essential things to retain their employees. They respect their talent,
establish a work environment where they can grow, offer ongoing education and training to
them, establish a coaching relationship with workers, offer consistent feedback to workers and
include them in the critical decision-making process (Taylor, 2002).
Workers are more productive and happy when they feel valued and respected, are
growing their talents, can contribute to the company success, and are included in making crucial
decisions. These are the qualities of a high-performing company. In like manner, they are also
the strategies of retaining high-performing workers. Some executives assume that talented
workers are motivated by salaries and bonuses, that if they are well remunerated, they will
continue working for the company. This is true but money alone is not a motivator, and as a
motivator, it’s not robust enough to keep them around. The chance to develop new abilities and
skills, to continue growing, and to feel valued and respected, are the most important strategies for
retaining high performing workers (Taylor, 2002).
