FLY EMIRATES 2
Fly Emirates: Business Strategy
Fly Emirates is a leading Dubai-based airline that has a significant market share within
the global airline industry, founded in 1985. The airline operates a massive fleet of aircrafts, both
built by Boeing and Airbus, and plies destinations all over the world. The company came as a
consequence of the decision by the government to own and operate a profitable airline. In the
past, the airline management has employed various management strategies as well as leadership
concepts that have had diverse reactions and results, leading to evaluations and reevaluations to
retain the company status as a market giant (Emirates, 2018).
In the wake of its dwindling fortunes in the recent decade, the company as had to make
drastic changes in its strategies, and as a consequence decided to begin the shake-up by the
replacement of its company president with myself. I have been appointed as the president with
the instructions to turn around the current performance trends exhibited by the company. I intend
to dispense with the same by formulating a business strategy with the intention of attaining the
turn-around results anticipated by both the ownership and management of the company.
Most importantly, the initial task that I intend to dispense with is the evaluation of the
current situation within the company and its external environment, citing and appreciating the
strengths that the company exhibits in relation to the market. The same will be followed by an
analysis of the weaknesses that the company envisions could be the cause of the decline
experienced, which would then be succeeded by an elaborate commentary on the opportunities
that the market has accorded to the airline and how the same can be exploited. Finally, the same
will culminate in a discussion of how the company is threatened by market forces and how these
could be eliminated.
