This is a press statement made by Fly Emirates Airline concerning the incident involving
a captain of one of its aircraft. On the 24
th
of March 2018 at 6 am or thereabouts, the captain of
Boeing 707 flying from Heathrow International Airport to the John F. Kennedy Airport fell sick
and became unconscious as the airplane was about to land. This event necessitated the co-pilot
to safely land the plane as per the rules and regulations of Fly Emirates. The heroic act of the co-
pilot of safely landing the above-stated aircraft single-handedly is illustrative of the level of skill
and expertise that the Fly Emirates holds so dearly. Further, the Airline would like to assure all
its passengers and customers that this was an isolated occurrence and that the Airline is doing
everything to ensure that it does not happen again. Everything is in control.
The Health Fitness of Emirates Airline Personnel
All the Fly Emirates personnel go through regular mental, physical and emotional health
fitness tests that one ought to pass before being considered a staff or employee of the Airline.
Moreover, to maintain such an employee status one must continually pass such regular medical
fitness tests. These regular tests occur on a monthly basis and are carried out by professional
medics with vast experience in the Airlines industry. Additionally, the Airline is well aware of
the nature of the tasks that its various personnel carry out and continues to provide a conducive
working environment to all its employees.
In particular, the Captain of the flight in question had passed all the prerequisite previous
medical tests as per the Airlines policy and industry regulations. It was the first time that the
distinguished Captain was developing such medical conditions. The Captain was of good health
and fit to fly. Further, Fly Emirates strictly adheres to all of the regulatory frameworks in the
