The Terrible Effects of Cardiovascular Disease in Women
Abstract
Heart disease is just an umbrella term that describes various diseases that plagues the
heart. A few different diseases included with the term are cardiac arrest, arrhythmia,
stroke, coronary heart disease a many more. The sad truth is 1 in 4 Americans are
diagnosed with some type of heart disease and it is now the leading cause of death in
both men and women. Just like with every disease or sickness, it affects everyone
differently, and heart disease is no exception. It affects women and men differently and
when it comes to women, older and younger women experience heart disease on two
separate scales. Menopause is a factor that increases the risk in women of developing
heart disease as well as what the women does with her health. The inside of the body
in women looks different depending on age and whether or not they have been
diagnosed with some form of heart disease. Nutrition and physical activity also play an
important role in the risk factors of a woman developing heart disease.
