Marker’s Comments:
Section A – Barriers to Communication:
At the moment this section needs to be more clearly laid out and to have clearly defined barriers that
you are going to explore. There is a lack of supporting evidence and your work is descriptive often
missing the point. This is a shame as you are beginning to develop some good ideas but it needs
further development and a clearer structure.
Section B – Communication and Safety:
It is not clear where this section starts as there is no heading and this would have been good for the
reader to have been able to distinguish. This section is mainly descriptive and there was scope to
have elaborated on some of the aspects in greater detail to demonstrate your understanding. Try and
think about one example and then explore this in detail with supporting evidence as this will help you
to focus your discussions in a more meaningful way and enable you to evaluate the evidence.
Section C – Decision Making Scenario:
This shows some reflection and evaluation in parts but needs to be more consistent throughout.
Ensure the words written are your own and not taken directly from sources of evidence. On the whole
this section is better written that parts A and B and you are meeting the relevant learning outcomes
although it is mainly descriptive.
Additional Comments:
At the moment your writing needs to develop academically and you need to be clear on the
assignment brief so that you can focus your discussions and evidence on the relevant aspects.
Ensure you have a plan of how you want your assignment to look and then think about how you will
gather evidence to address the areas you want to discuss. This will help you to understand what
aspects to explore and evaluate and will enable you to have a clearer idea of what to include.
