A. Attention Getter:

Hi, everyone! Have you seen any anime before? What anime you have seen? Do

you know how it started?

B. Relation to the Audience

The appeal of animation, popularly called animation has become a worldwide

phenomenon. With so many people interested in it, the vivid evolution of its

features started in the early 20

th

century and continues to develop today. Well

today, anime such Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Frozen and Cinderella are

seen by children while young people watch Pokémon and Naruto.

C. Thesis

Anime has evolved and continues to develop to include generational viewers

worldwide and an array of genres not just artwork but also concepts, storytelling

and themes.

D. Preview

We will start be investigating how anime was in the early 20

th

century. We will

move to see how animation became televised and how classic novels influenced

their development in mid-20

th

century. The second point deals with the current

state of anime. Influenced by rigorous marketing tactics, anime has spread to

other parts of the world to include more gender, less gender biased tactics and

incorporation of technology.

II. First main point

Anime development started in japan in the early 20

th

century.

A. Evidence

1. The oldest piece, Katsudō Shashin can be traced in 1907 although the first film

appeared in 1917.

2. The animations were greatly influenced by Disney.

B. Evidence

1. Anime ideas were traditionally influenced by classic novels and manga. Anime

propaganda films were made during WWII.

2. Anime was first televised when TVs became popular in the 1950s.

Using the concepts and framework of strategic planning and management, you will perform an environmental analysis, assess strategic priorities, and develop appropriate strategies and an action plan for a healthcare organization. Strategy is about making choices and evaluating trade-offs. Healthcare organizations operate in a very diverse environment, serving culturally diverse customers/patients and employing just as culturally diverse a workforce. What is “right” for one organization may not be right for another. Making the “right” choices and trade-offs is a challenge that healthcare administrators routinely have to undertake. The final product of the Signature Assignment is a strategic plan with an executive summary, environmental analysis, strategic goals, objectives, measurements, and an action plan. There are three (3) parts of the Signature Assignment: Part II is due on FRIDAY of Week 8 This week you will: Review the case (attached) Based on the environmental analysis in Part I, what would you recommend to Mary Ann Lewis? Briefly explain your rationale (0.5–1 page) If you recommend the CEO to move forward, develop a strategic plan and an implementation/action plan as outlined below. Strategic plan (2–2.5 pages) Strategic goals (at least two, one of which should focus on how to meet the needs of culturally diverse patients and compete in a culturally diverse environment) Strategic objectives (at least two objectives per goal; use SMART (attached) Measurement Implementation/action plan (2–2.5 pages) What needs to be done when and by whom. If you do NOT recommend the CEO to move forward, develop an alternative strategic plan that would help MANC grow (an endowment from Mr. Nguyen will not be available) and an implementation/action plan as outlined below.
