Describe the geography of Vietnam and the Indochina Peninsula. Where is the Gulf of
Tonkin located?
The location of Vietnam is on the eastern margin of the Indochina Peninsula. The country
borders the Gulf of Tonkin, Pacific Ocean, and the Gulf of Thailand. It borders them along
with China, Laos, and Cambodia. Vietnam occupies about 331, 688 square kilometers. The
border of the country with Laos was settled on an ethnic basis between Vietnamese rulers and
those from Laos (Conley, 2010). The Gulf of Tonkin is located on the northwestern portion
of the South China Sea. The gulf is defined in the west and northwest by the northern
coastline of Vietnam.

countries are Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. These countries are related in
