In the article "Building Trustworthy Software" (2007), Hogan
discusses many software development issues. Pick one of these
issues, explain its signi-cance, and critically examine the article's
discussion of it.
Answer:
The main software development issue that was mentioned
a lot in this article was mainly the time table of how
software is gradually updated and has new patches placed
on old software to help its build run faster and bug free.
The problem with that were mainly compatibility issues.
Most companies picked a group of programmers and
software suppliers to test out the software because the
whole reason for a patch release is to x open holes in
software that will either slow down production or simply
crash a computer in the long run. Every piece of software
that is released has some type of problem with it. Some
things slip through people ngers and eyes and a little
hotx is later released to patch those little things up. It’s
a constant thing because not saying people aren’t doing
their job but it can be a million and one problems with the
one piece of software that is being released to the
company or consumers. Compatibility issues are still going
on till this day with constant new releases of software and
hardware. Software engineers will be busy for years to
come
