Introduction
Advocacy literary means, to call for a support or to pass information to a target group. It forms
to seek or ensure that people, who are most vulnerable in the society are able to have their voice
heard, on issues that are important to them, defend and safeguard their right and have their
views and wishes considered when decision are made about their lives. It also support and enable
people to express their wish and concerns, access information and services, defend and promote
their right and responsibilities and explore their rights and options.
In advocacy, attacks are always taken by these opposing the campaign, to intimidate the efforts
which are made by the advocates, with the interest to reduce the effectiveness. The opposition
attacks can be recognized as the following Ds:

cause something to occur more slowly than normal. The opponent may come in and make you
think that, they are helping you to achieve your campaign strategies, but their intention is to
delay the move. They may say that they are working on the problem, but the reality is that they
are not. They may suggest that more information is needed to support the end goal of the
advocacy, when there is already much information to support the problem. The consequence of
the delay is that it hurt the momentum of the organization and causes the community member to
give up.
Deception. This means to deceive or to lie. Normally people with intention of deceiving, may
carry with them a feeling of either craftiness or betrayal. In the advocacy, this will be
intentionally misleading someone by lying or refusing to tell the story (S, 1979). An example in
the community will be, when an opponent simply defend that that boy child is non vulnerable
and is stable in his survival environment therefore they need no of emphasis on them.
Discrediting. This can be seen when the opposition or the enerny of the advocacy try to make the
group look incompetent, by labeling the activity as unnecessary and dishonest to the community.
Some may go as far as attacking the officers driving the advocacy agenda. They may accuse the
operation in the community, to have been on without the license and or people operating are not
