Mission
The Harold D. Buckingham Graduate Program mission is one that provides a blended
learning environment for their graduate students. Graduate students are able to explore business
globally while learning to make relevant business decisions regionally.
The blended learning aspect of the university is a model that helps move the walls of the
classroom to an online-distance environment and provides many learning opportunities for
students. I was able to communicate and collaborate with students from all over the world.
Collaboration is important and essential in a business environment which is where my career is
focused as a Human Resource Manager.
Throughout the past five years, the teachings of the graduate program have allowed me to
see through a comprehensive lens, the business world around me. It helped shape my identity
and the identity of students I was fortunate to interact with, as I understood what went into
shaping various business cultures. Having a global mindset, allows me to encompass the
understanding of globalization and how the world functions economically, socially, and
politically. It also affords me the opportunity to make regional business decisions for the
company with whom I am employed.
Goals
Nothing less was received from this Human Resource Law class, but a fully-rounded student
experience. Students were given the opportunity to learn employment law and formulate
analytical sound decisions during homework assignments and through collaboration with
classmates. These skills have already helped me make better management decisions in our
