Company Overview
The Coca Cola Company and its brand Coke sit at the top of the marketing chain for soda
products worldwide (Bedford, 2020). The company had brand value in 2019 of $63.37 B USD.
Headquartered in Atlanta Georgia, the company maintains over 300 bottling partners worldwide
and has 86,200 global employees (Bedford, 2019). The company began operations in 1892 and
fill niche called the non-alcoholic beverage market. Their wide-ranging allied bottling companies
locate to service the world, excepting Cuba and North Korea, has encountered the most culturally
diverse places on earth. They successfully adapted their leadership styles and negotiation tactics
to attain success in the wide-ranging global market.
This report will center on the domestic United States and Brazil to show the different
tactics in negotiation required in each geography and how Coca Cola Global devises an
overarching strategy for the company in Atlanta, Georgia and then adjusts it to make it compliant
with all of its bottling partner locations. This report will focus on Brazil, a large LATAM (Latin
American) bottling partner that has had some specific problems the Coca Cola corporate had to
resolve.
Cultural, Governmental and Legal Differences
The goal of this report is to provide the cultural differences between the United States
and Brazil that impact negotiations and importantly, negotiating styles. Following with
governmental difference between the two countries and their laws which all impact the strategy
developed to imprint the core values and global plans for each non-United States bottling and
distribution partner focusing on Brazil. What is negotiation? It is a formal method of social
