For this lab, you are going to work with steganography software to see just how easy it is to
hide data into an image.
Points: 30 Points
For this first exercise it is not worth any points, but you cannot do the
rest of the lab if you are do not do this correctly!
1) Download http://www.openstego.com/ (free) or you can find another open source
Steganography software.
2) Once it is downloaded go find your folder and extract the data
3) Should look like this when done:
4) Click on the folder titled “lib” and you’ll see only one file…click on it to launch the
software.

Go out and build a text file. Use Notepad in Windows and create a file with your “secret” message 8) Save on the desktop in your file folder “STEGO Exercise” - name it whatever you want, but don’t forget the name! 9) Then you will load your “Cover File.” There is a .jpg file in Canvas titled “Table3.jpg” save it in your “STEGO Exercise” folder. 10) Go to your OpenStego Software and put in all the files into the different boxes. 11) For the “Output Stego File” box, just make a file in your “STEGO Exercise” folder…maybe name it something like “Table_Stegged” 12) Should look like this: 13) You can provide a Press the “Hide Data” button (I put in a passwor ...
