Some of the events covered for the last six months include a gunman who killed his sister
and eight others in only twenty-four hours in august 2019. The impeachment of the United States
President Donald Trump was also an event that hit the headlines for quite some time (Opinion by
Douglas Heye, 2020). The abdication of Emperor Akihito, who was the Japan Emperor, hit the
United States headlines for a long time too. Emperor Akihito stepped down after ruling for thirty
years (Editors, 2019). The other major event that happened was the resigning of the United
Kingdom's Prime minister after serving the country for almost three years. The resignation
occurred because of failed negotiations about withdrawing of the United Kingdom from Brexit,
which was the European Union.
Among all the events that happened for the last six months, the one that received the
highest coverage was of the impeachment of the United States President, Donald Trump
(Editors, 2019). This even is still receiving coverage in the current news circle because it led to
several other events such as the trial of the President to prove him guilty of the allegations the
democrats had placed on him. The trial took several weeks, after which he was determined not to
be guilty. Secondly, the event was substantially covered because of its nature, apart from being a
political and historical event, Donald Trump was the President of the most powerful country in
the world.
President Trump's impeachment will affect the country in that the Democrats who lead to
