Introduction
Different theories are applied in various settings to explain the behaviors and motives found
in an organization. One of these theories that have been featured to be important is the attribution
theory. It is a psychological theory that focuses on explaining the behaviors and sometimes their
use for management. Therefore, attribution theory is essential and plays a significant role in
ensuring that the organization successfully implements different innovations and other essential
activities. Thus, the essay focuses on summarizing attribution theory and how constructive
intentionality impacts the implementation of technology in an organization.
High-level overview
In the article, attribution theory was applied for conducting an investigation and explaining
the behaviors of employees towards the implementation of innovation in an organization.
Employee innovation and their attribution towards organizational intentionality were studied to
understand the sensemaking that comes from employees adopting the different innovations noted
in the organization (Zhou & Ki, 2018). Employees tend to have additional attribution that can lead
to acceptance or rejection of implementations of innovations in an organization. These attributions
are either constructive intentionality or destructive intentionality (Ginder, Kwon & Byun, 2019).
Intentionality can be regarded as how employees think or find meaning and importance to them
for providing success in an organization.
From the article, different participants were involved in the process to ensure that the theory
finds essential outcomes that can be used in an organization. Notably, 84 managers and 397
employees were involved in the study to find the required information regarding the intentionality
and employees' adoption of different innovations (Pishghadam & Abbasnejad, 2017). From the
