Executive Summary
BP is a company with headquarters in London, UK. Australasia, America, Africa, and
Asia are the continents the company has spread. It is an integrated company dealing with both oil
and gas. The company's operations are divided into upstream, midstream, and downstream. The
first operation includes exploration, oil, and natural gas production as well as development,
development of the field, and production. The operations in the midstream are natural gas
transportation, marketing, and trading (Cramer, 2018). To clarify, natural gas combines liquefied
and natural gas liquids. The last category involves transporting, marketing, supplying, refining,
trading, and manufacturing crude oil, products from petrochemicals, and petroleum (Cramer,
2018). In addition, related services provided to retail and wholesale customers are in the third
category. Customers get energy, petrochemicals, fuel, and lubricants from BP.
Introduction
BP started in 1909 as the Anglo-Persian Oil Company Ltd. In 1935, it changed its name
to Anglo-Iranian Oil Company Ltd, and in 1954 it became the British Petroleum Company
Limited. In 1982, it adopted the name British Petroleum Company PLC, while in 1998, it merged
with Amoco and became BP Amoco (Cramer, 2018). In 2000, it assumed the name BP PLC. The
company has its headquarters in the United Kingdom. Their website is www.bp.com, 1 St.
James's Square, London, SW1Y4PD. Their phone number is 44 20 74964000, with over 65,900
by last year, specializing in energy and utilities (Cramer, 2018). The company's symbol and
exchange are BP. (LON). BP had revenue of $157.7B in the same year. Their purpose is to
reimagine people's energy and the planet where they want to drive the world towards the net-zero
direction and improve their lives.
