Week 6 – Discussion Question 2
Yes, I believe religious decisions can be made without faith, because many
individuals do not really know the concept of faith until they find religion or belief
in a higher power. For example, some people who are members of a religious
congregation may refuse to conform to the ways of the church, even though they
have been members for many years. Such congregation members have made the
decision to belong to their church not because they have faith in the church itself
but because this is what their family, circle of friends, and society as a whole
expects of them. Faith is the strong, unwavering belief in something that we may
have no proof of. Having faith in something means you believe in the something
with complete trust. Going to church does not necessarily mean that you truly
have faith in God. Sometimes faith must be proven to know that it truly exists
within you.
