Hi Kelly, indeed outsources has various advantages to companies that formulate
them. For example, Apple outsources its product manufacturing to China due to the
cheap labor and production efficiency. Outsourcing is most common for large
companies that wish to purchase products or services ready for use rather than
processing them inside the company. To such companies, benefits most come in
through access to cheap labor of logistic efficiency. International outsourcing is also
based on access to cheap labor (Edvardssson, Durst & Oskarsson, 2019). Another
factor that contributes to such is access to talent. Some countries have more expertise
in particular areas, making them ideal for producing products based on such areas.
This coordination between companies supports mutual growth and expansion.
Alliances with competitors are not encouraged as it is subject to anti-competitive
laws. Moreover, SMEs (Small and medium-sized organizations) can easily benefit
from outsourcing and production alliances. It also creates long-term relationships,
innovativeness and leads to competitiveness in the markets.
