1. Some common types of social dances taught to young children in America include the
rock & roll dancing featuring twist and Elvis and the ballroom dancing of Ginger
Rogers, which is mostly used to signify love and romance.
2. In some countries, couple dancing is prohibited because it is deemed immoral. There
exists a strong belief that couple dancing can corrupt young people’s morals and
thoughts. Thus, couple dancing is only allowed if the dance is conducted with the proper
person and with the right intentions.
3. Social etiquette is important in American social dances because it makes social
interaction easier, fosters respect, and clarifies roles and expectations for the people
involved in the dances. Social etiquette also equips people with information on how to
behave and how to relate with members of the different sex.
4. In cooks’ islands, dancing is strongly influenced by religion, culture, and roles and
expectations of each gender. They stress different dances for men and women to help
introduce each of them to their identity and future roles expected of each of them. Men
are also more masculine and energetic while women lack the tempo and are considered
more tender.

5. I believe dancing does not cure depression because it does not address the root causes of
depression. However, dancing can offer relief from depression, distract a person from
anxiety or help them to forget their problems for a while.
Sex and Social dance segment part 2
1. In morocco, women cannot dance in public because it against their culture to do so and
hence men cannot allow them to dance in public. Most men do not tolerate their wives
dancing in front of other men or even the thought of another man admiring their wives.
2. In Morocco, men and women do not socialize together because it is against their Islamic
faith to do so. Socializing is against the Quran because it can evoke feelings and emotions
among people who are not married to each other.
3. Waltz dancing was considered provocative and sinful because it involved fast turning
movements and close-hold between two people of different genders. This dance was
viewed as controversial and provocative because it could encourage immorality and
sexual sin.
4. In Morocco, women are not allowed to dance in public or in front of other men.
However, women can dance with one another or in front of men belonging to their
immediate family.
5. In morocco, it is okay for women to dance in a sensual way with each other.
