Step 1: The Data Analysis Plan
Data analysis is essential in providing insights that result in informed decisions. In
this paper, an analysis of the grades dataset will be carried to enable educators to make
informed decisions that will positively impact students' performance. The dataset, which
comprises 21 variables, has a sample size of 105.
In this analysis, the variables of interest are quiz 1that represents the number of
correct answers provided by a student in quiz 1, GPA that is the previous grade point average,
total that represents the number of points that a student earned in class, and final. All the
variables are continuous variables.
Research questions
Is the relationship between the total points a student earned in class and their final
exam scores statistically significant?
Is the relationship between a student's GPA and their quiz 1 scores statistically
significant?
Hypotheses
H0: the relationship between the total points a student earned in class and their final exam
scores is not statistically significant.
H1: the relationship between the total points a student earned in class and their final exam
scores is statistically significant.
H0: the relationship between a student's GPA and their quiz one scores is not statistically
significant.
H1: the relationship between a student's GPA and their quiz one scores is statistically
significant.
Step 2: Testing Assumptions
Test for one of the assumptions of correlation normality.
