The topic of Discussion. Suppose you want a new computer to use for your own needs. What

are the major factors that would influence your decision? How would technical factors affect

your decision? If you would like your computer to have certain features and options, think

about them and justify them.

The significant factors that would influence my decision when buying a new computer are

financial strength, the most preferred brand, uses of the computer, the feeling of extra benefits,

size, storage, and processor needs, operating system, read access memory (RAM), battery life, and

USB ports (Mgondah, 2018). First, I would consider the amount I have for acquiring the computer

so that I can determine the computer qualities or specifications which fit within my budget.

Secondly, different computer brands offer different user experiences. For example, previously, I

used a Dell laptop that never developed hardware issues, unlike my current hp laptop, where I had

to change the hard disk. This scenario will lead me to compare different brands before purchasing

a new computer.

Since I purpose to use the computer for my own needs, I need to buy a computer that saves

me money in terms of cost and small size for easy portability. Furthermore, I will consider the

operating system and the storage type because I should be familiar with the OS (Tina, 2020). The

storage should be the current solid-state drive (SSD) which makes the computer first in its

operations. I need a fast computer for learning and sometimes gaming when free; therefore, the

processor and RAM should be high speeds to enhance my experience. Finally, the computer’s

battery life should be more than 4 hours, and the USB ports should be more than four. I have many

peripheral devices I connect to my computer when using; therefore, any computer I consider

buying must have higher battery life and USB ports.

Similarly, technical factors are related to past experiences (Dietrich, 2010) and would

influence my decision because I would like to have a good experience using my new computer

like before. I have been moving around with my computer and studying from anywhere. I have

had huge storage space and a fast processor; therefore, my new computer should allow me to

expand my software and operations simultaneously. Additionally, the new computer should

support more than four USB devices. Finally, the new computer should run on a familiar operating

system installed on a solid-state drive, the current type of computer storage hardware.
