Situation Analysis of Transglobal Airlines
Internal Environment
The internal environment consists of culture, leadership, internal processes, human
resources, and financial performance. Transglobal recently implemented a plan called
“Transglobal 2030” that consists of goals and principles to reach. Many of these goals are
employee based, looking to show employees they are valued and keep turnover rates low. Some
of the actions being taken for this is Transglobal offering training for all employees to make sure
everyone is up to date on the latest safety trainings and can feel safe while being employed by
Transglobal. Another action being taken is workplace inequities are being addressed and
Transglobal is eager to build and maintain an inclusive culture. This means that everyone is
treated equally and respected. The company also sent leadership on retreats to do continuous
training and to contribute to the making of the 2030 vision.
The financials show that there is overall growth across the company as well. Domestic
revenue grew 7.7% as well as corporate revenue growing 6% in the last quarter. Atlantic revenue
grew by 0.8% and Latin revenue grew by 6.7%. Pacific revenue was down 0.5% compared to the
prior year, but this was a 3.2% improvement from the previous quarter. Another increase that
Transglobal saw was the adjusted earnings per share of $2.31, which was a 30% year-over-year
increase. The net income has consistently increased over the years as well. In 2017 the net
income was $1,009.3 million dollars, in 2018 it went up to $1,239.1 million dollars, and up again
in 2019 to $1,501.1 million dollars. With these areas trending upwards, it shows that Transglobal
is doing well at both bringing in new business as well as retaining customers. Prior to COVID,
new customer growth was 27% and customer retention was 80%. As travel begins to open back
up, these are numbers that we can count on trending upwards as well.
