Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the obligation placed on businesses to act
in a manner that is beneficial to the communities in which they operate through their operations
and policies (Luthans & Doh, 2018). In addition to generating profits, businesses should work
toward making society a better place; this is the fundamental principle underlying the concept of
"corporate social responsibility" (CSR). Helping the community, getting employees involved,
and reducing an organization's negative impact on the environment are common goals in the
realm of corporate social responsibility. The relevance of corporate social responsibility (CSR)
to the public perception of a company's brand is recognized by many businesses (Luthans &
Doh, 2018). These companies believe that consumers will be more loyal to ethical corporations
and will be more willing to purchase from such companies (Luthans & Doh, 2018). Within this
framework, corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects may represent an essential component
of the public relations strategy employed by a firm. However, the founding members of certain
organizations get active in CSR because it aligns with their ideals (Lucchini & Moisello, 2019).
The section below discusses the concept of corporate social responsibility in reference to
commercial and social objectives and Nike's case study.
A corporation may decide to outsource labor or another manufacturing process. However,
it should be careful to choose a responsible agency to outsource to balance its commercial and
social goals and increase the effectiveness of its activities related to corporate social
responsibility. In other words, outsourcing labor will assist in lowering costs while
simultaneously increasing revenues (Agburu et al., 2017). Similarly, if I choose to do business
