Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) - allows employees to
bring their everyday devices to the workplace. These
devices are connected to the organization network to
enable employees to connect to the internet for private or
organization use.
There are potential downsize such as privacy, control of
data and cybersecurity.
Discussion: The flood of new devices on the organization
network require greater security and privacy. How are
organization providing security and privacy to BYOD?
Solution
Data also called as raw data is any unproccessed data
which is then analysed to form information. In simpler
terms data can be defined as anything that we give input to
computer and after processing this data computer
generates output which can be called as information.
Data is raw material and information is the product.
Data may not have a meaning but information has a logical
meaning.
Data are unorganised facts which can be simple, random
etc without anu meaning and once this data is proccessed

it becomes information.
Example: \"Asif 26 CS Srinagar\" its data which has no
meaning but when this data is proccessed and produced as
\"Name Asif, Age 26, Subject Computer Science, Address
Srinagar\" it becomes information which has a meaning.
Another example of data and information is \"1000 ft\"
which is simply raw data and when same data is producced
as \"height of mountain is 1000ft\" it becomes information.
Security and privacy are closely related to each other,
Security means confidentiality and availability of data and
privacy means useful and appropriate use of data. Privacy
means what information about you goes where and what
information to hide from whom, security means how to
make sure the information is restricted according to your
privacy.
Example:\" Noone on the network should have access to
your pictures and videos from your computer \" this is
privacy and how this can be enforced (using technology
like password, read access etc ) is security .
My thought from a security perspective :
The following are the most cosiderable security issues.
1.Easily effected by vulnerabilities :
2. Risk of data leakage Increases day by day :
3. Poorly cared for devices :
